Physiotherapy is used to promote, restore, or maintain normal movement and function. It can aid in the healing of injuries and help with disabilities and illnesses.
Physiotherapists provide treatment for a large array of illnesses and injuries. In fact, you will find a physiotherapist in almost every ward of the hospital, from orthopaedics to intensive care. Physiotherapists are most well known for their treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, which are conditions which affect your bones, joints and soft tissue.
Here at Delta Physiotherapy, we specialise in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Helping patients of all ages and all walks of life. Treatment is aimed at providing pain relief, restoring a patient’s normal movement and therefore allowing them to function normally again.
We commonly treat patients suffering from low back pain, neck pain and shoulder injuries and can assess and treat any musculoskeletal conditions from your head to your little toe. It doesn’t matter if your problem has come from poor posture from working from home, lifting a heavy box or running too much, we can get to the root of the issue and provide you with help and advice to get you back to your pre-injury life and on the odd occasion that physiotherapy is not beneficial we have contacts with many specialists who can help you further.
What to expect from a physiotherapy appointment at Delta Physio
At your initial assessment appointment, you will be asked a series of questions about your pain, injury or issue, general health and hobbies, all this information gives the physiotherapist a good understanding of what may have caused your pain or injury. The physiotherapist will then undertake a series of tests to try and diagnose exactly the cause of the issue. They will then formulate a plan of treatment with yourself, which will generally include hands-on treatment, advice and exercises.
It may then be necessary for you to have subsequent appointments to further aid in your recovery and also, importantly to give you advice and exercises to help prevent your injury or recurring pain.
We are passionate about improving our patient’s health and well-being and understand the impact that an injury or pain can have on someone’s everyday life, hobbies and work, affecting not only their physical health but also their mental health.
